In a move that feels more like an inflection point than an incremental update, Snowflake, Tableau, BlackRock and a coalition of leading data platforms have just launched the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) - a vendor-neutral standard for semantic metadata that promises to break down silos and unify how business context is defined across enterprise systems.
In doing so, they're tackling what many believe to be AI's most stubborn bottleneck: inconsistent definitions and fragmented context across tools.
That's a huge step forward for context management in enterprise - and it's exactly the kind of breakthrough we need to see in the consumer world too.
