Why is the free version this generous?
Because it costs us almost nothing to run. The app works on your machine and calls the AI subscription you already have, so we are not paying for your tokens or your storage. A free tier that stays free is also the fastest way for people to trust a product that handles their personal context.
The other reason is what we believe. Everyone should own and control their own context library rather than hand it to an AI lab to keep. Putting that behind a paywall would undercut the whole point.
What happens if I stop paying for Premium?
Your library is on your machine, so it stays exactly where it is and keeps working. You lose sync, sharing and backup. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held hostage.
Do you look at my context?
On the free plan, no, it never leaves your machine. On Premium it is stored on our servers and is not end to end encrypted, because the cloud has to read your context to hand it to your AI. Only an AI that has authenticated as you can reach it, and only the parts you have authorized it to see. Access here is restricted and logged, and your context is never used to train a model or sold. The security page explains this in full.
Do I need an AI subscription?
Yes, a paid one. RaLHF connects to ChatGPT and Claude, and the free tiers of those services do not allow the connections it needs. We do not sell you AI. We make the one you already pay for work better.
Can I get my context out?
Any time, in full. It is yours. Export it or delete it without asking us.
You never need to upgrade.
The free version is a full context manager, and it stays that way forever.
